Math Activity #7 Riddles and Matching with Ten Frames

Skill/Content and Objective:
Materials: Download and cut out ten frame riddles and matching cards from website.
Description: The student will choose one riddle card. They will read the card and match to the corresponding ten frames and also the written number. 10 frames and numbers go to 20.
Differentiation: . For those students that cannot count to 20, they should be given riddle cards 1-10 and will gradually work their way up and vice versa increase the cards up to 100 for more advanced students. Also either the riddle cards or number cards can be taken out to play one version of the game at a time.
Assessment
Formative: You should see students working together to figure out the answer. They should start on the target number and count up the correct amount of times using the ten frame cards.
Summative: For each student, choose one riddle card and have the student identify the correct number and its corresponding 10 frame.
