A Frog in the Bog
A Frog in the Bog: Author Wilson, Karma, Illustrator: Rankin, Joan (2007)
A Frog in the Bog is a counting book that will amuse and engage any age. The frog finds things around him to eat and as the number of objects get bigger so does his stomach. He then finds that he is sitting on an alligator and the only way to escape is to let out the things he has eaten.

The Cheerios Counting Book
This book focuses on counting to 20 and then counting to 100 by tens. Tons of activities can be used with this book. Bring out Cheerios and have students count along with the book. When children are learning to count, be sure to include manipulatives for a hands on experience. Using Cheerios supports one to one correspondence which is better than students memorizing or rote counting to 10.
Description: These books can be used in the order presented to reinforce counting 1-100. Each book is easy to follow using rhyme and repition. However, I would suggest reading to the class a few times at first to familiarize students with the book before placing them in the reading stations.
Assessment:
Formative- Students should be flipping through each page, pointing to different objects, and counting aloud. Questions: How many do you see? Can you count the number of objects for me?
Summative - Students will pick their favorite page of the book and draw a representation of the number and objects in their math journals.
